Took advantage of the glorious weather to go for a final motorcycle ride before lockdown and then winter. Having seen no queues outside a supermarket we went and did our weekly shop a day early so we could both go - stocks were low but we bought everything we would normally get.
MrPP is on his own from now on!
The garden will get lots of attention from tomorrow especially with the weather set frustratingly fair.
I realised one of the varieties of seed I sowed yesterday needed to be in the propagator. So moved that. Harvested chillies, put them straight into the dehydrator, made a cheese cake & crocheted a hat .
I've removed the last of my Toms from the GH and put lettuce in its place.
Today, while it was dry and bright I finally got around to mowing my lawn. Cool I think this may be the last cut this year, but I may be wrong. Rolleyes
I saw the sun today!! Also dragged some rhododendron root balls around, moved them off my tree planting area
Yesterday dodged the showers and raked up more copper beech leaves and bagged them up ready to mow over when it dries up, then progressed to upper area and raked up more leaves. Then got drenched. Such an exciting day.
Looking out the back this morning the copper beech has very kindly dropped her drawers again to give me another happy day raking.
Filled the turf bunker, 3 wheel barrow loads, checked all my seeds, the pink garlic are all up, some onions and spring onions up also, some carrots starting to appear. Drained water off the mushrooms as they were to wet, not enough heat in the tunnel to get them moving.
Stood in my greenpolytunnelhouse with a bottle of lager.
Nibbled a couple of tiny toms, a zimbabwe black chili (which was rubbish) and a couple of jalepnos (which were good) - I like a little heat with my beers.
I've just ordered a dominos delivery and have opened a bottle of white wine and am now going to watch the rest of the rugby - wonder who's won....
Emptied a compost bin on to what will be next years brassica bed, raked up leaves.
Between very heavy showers & gale force gusts, we put in some fence posts and a gate on the plot .

Hopefully get the fencing up tomorrow.
