Picked some chillies
Picked toms for roasting and apples for dehydrating and freezing.
Picked a selection of veg to bring to a friend I’m visiting evening
Did some more tidying in the conservatory so I can put my trays of seedlings in there where they'll get more light, and brought the fuchsia and Vietnamese coriander indoors before I forget and it gets too cold for them!

Also, ordered a small dehydrator for drying herbs, making stock powder and kale crisps, etc!
Yesterday was quite a busy one.
Started off by making vegetable stock & chilli powder. Then went to play in the tunnel. Where I chopped lots of the tomatoes so they concentrate on ripening, not producing more. Composted the melon plant that really isn’t going to produce anything worth eating at this late stage of the season, a very tired courgette Plant and 6 chilli plants after picking all the lovely ripe chillies off them. Got Bobs help with industrial strength supports for the sweet peppers as they’ve trashed the ones they had. Put some slates under my spaghetti squash babies to stop them getting soggy bottoms. Harvested stuff. Collected tomato seeds For the circle.
Off to work now.
Yesterday was local gardening club show in a marquee with 1 end open. Got 2 first (one for biggest weed) a 2nd and a third. Quite a few younger people were there and entering stuff this year for some reason.
Another three courgettes harvested, one nearer to a marrow. Rolleyes

Calabrese florets harvested for OH to add to a Quiche Lorraine. Smile
Spent the morning stripping the grass and weeds from a path between 2 beds, soon to be one bed. Each path that goes gives me a 2-3' wide strip to play with. probably be some random seeds - for a change. Wink
Heavy rain late morning stopped play.
INR blood test which was in range then straight to the dentist for a tooth extraction that started giving me jip during lockdown! What a few f'ing days.

Hoping to get some gardening done tomorrow ☺
Put up some more bird feeders - one of niger seed, as we have little flocks of goldfinches hereabouts, and a suet ball feeder - and emptied out and refilled the other feeders. The blue tits have finally discovered the fancy bird bath I installed several weeks ago, and there are long-tailed tits visiting the fat-filled coconut shell. I'm just hoping the local squirrels don't gnaw through the plastic grille on the niger feeder to get to the seeds!

Also helped the OH move two dozen bags of Dalefoot compost round to the back garden, after a pallet delivery this morning. We don't have a wheelbarrow, but luckily he has a porter-type trolley from work (used for book boxes), which made the job a lot easier. Hoping for good things, as this stuff gets glowing reviews.
