I saw a video on Instagram the other day of a lad soaking popcorn (unpopped) in water over night, sowing them thickly and letting them germinate in the dark. The shoots are apparently crunchy, sweet and tender!
Have you ever tried it?

I forgot to say, I've soaked some kernels over night and will sow mine tomorrow. What a fun experiment
Is corn not a grass? My appendix gave up years ago!
I bought some popping corn in Morries yesterday . They had 3 different brands, needless to say I bought the cheapest - Fudco, 500gr £1.25.
Wonder if they would grow into sweetcorn plants??
^^^Don't try it, I am pretty sure you will be disappointed. I would be surprised if you got 'sweet'corn, however plants for popping take forever and don't tend to do well in the uk or that is my findings over the years anyway.
They might grow into popcorn plants
would they turn out like those bushes with the large white marblelike berries, can't remember their name?
haha I'm not growing them to get fully grown - only for the microleaves to use in salads and stir fries
Or is that what you mean will take forever with the popping corns NG?

I have no idea about them for sprouts or microleaves, but I think you'll be okay. Although I am intrigued about microleaves - please let me know what they are like if you do it. Growing them to mature plants isn't an issue, the bit that takes forever is popping corn to ripen (if ever) here
