This post by Sarah Backmo  https://www.sarabackmo.com/growing-carro...y3-eYD2hbY about Growing carrots (and eating carrots) all year round looks useful and challenging!
I don't have much luck growing carrots, not really thought about  summer or winter carrot seeds so I'm thinking of trying Sarah's planning schedule:-

Instructions:
  1. Late fall/winter: Winter sow summer carrots outdoors, in a sheltered spot

  2. Winter: Winter sow summer carrots in a polytunnel

  3. Early spring: Sow summer carrots outside or in a planter box

  4. Early spring: Sow winter carrots outside (in one or two beds)

  5. Late spring: Sow summer carrots outside/in a planter box

  6. Early summer: Sow summer carrots outside/in a planter box

  7. Summer: Sow summer carrots outside/in a planter box

I also try to sow some carrot seeds in my hotbed, if I have the space. I sow these seeds in February and start harvesting my carrots in May. The seeds will of course grow in the order they were sown. The seeds in the polytunnel might get a bit of a head start though, depending on how sheltered they have been.
Your mission, V, should you choose to accept it, is to determine which carrots are summer or winter.......this post will self destruct in 30 seconds.
The 30 seconds were up 20+ minutes ago!!

The Nantes carrots are early, I think, and all those little round ones
Winter must be the big chunky ones that you'd feed to donkeys.
I grow carrots all year round in the poly tunnel I normally use the Nantes, but I tried a few other varieties with minimal success. Don’t like the little round ball shaped carrots. I have some coloured ones growing at the moment. There will be purple, yellow and white carrots.
I grow carrots in buckets they live either outdoors or get carried into the GH when the temperature drops. They never seem to do very well if I grow them in the garden beds.
I've got a few tin boxes at the bottom of the garden that have been used as raised beds. I want to move them so I might put them in the greenhouse over winter for salads and carrots. I've just sown one of them with the tiny ball carrots that I got in a seed swap from Runtpuppy I think!
