I thought all flower beds were random except council planting in public spaces. 
Veggie sets herself to be shot down in flames by the row planters.

My flower borders are random, though a few years ago I did try to link it together with repeating plants throughout some.

The dahlias for cutting didn't work when planted randomly through borders. Staking was a pain, and it takes twice as long trying to pick things.... and other flowers can get damaged trying to do it.

This is the Random bed - not exactly according to plan but it makes me - and the bees - happy. Big Grin
The white/mauve flowers are Radish, Yellow are land cress and kale and the cream & brown are rocket. You know what the orange ones are (I hope).
