From other threads I've seen my understanding is it's not too late to sow cucurbits??

Not too late at all. I'm going to sow some more this week (caveat: I also sowed some in January).

Me too - for some reason cucumbers are not playing this year. I've managed to have some eaten by slugs, some frazzled in the sun, and a whole batch that didn't come up at all. Always like this for me, then I get fed up and sow absolutely loads, and every single one comes up and I'm inundated lol
