I was looking at my onions Friday and thinking I ought to give them a feed.....yesterday I got some BFB to feed them, Allium Leaf Miner had beat me to it,  160 onions with  collapsed twisted leaves.

Gardening can break your heart sometimes

On the bonfire today
So sad Boss, feel for you.
Sorry Boss. Do you often have trouble with Leaf miners?
Never before....leeks are going under enviromesh cages and onions will be next year, I had a walk round and it appears to be focussed on about 8 plots
Sorry boss , that really is a heart breaker.

Can you put photos of the damage on the pest thread please. I’ve never seen them. I don’t know what to look for.
HeartbreakingSad We get it here. Such a pain having to cover everything. I'm not good at netting/cages etc but it seems we need them more and more. Pigeons have just stripped my 3 gooseberry bushes. I dug the rest up because I wasn't getting any and just missed the boat trying to cover these.
S***Sad
Sorry to hear that. I lost onions shallots and garlic about 3-4 years ago in the same way. Horrible things.
Sorry about that happening, like Sc I have never had that happen, I have some of my onions covered with enviromesh which I was going to take off but after reading your post I will just leave it on
Its really disheartening Boss I gave up growing leeks because of the dreaded Leaf miners Sad
