I would call it more of a sweet cabbage taste? I once made the mistake of making broth with it and parsnips as the base

I was given a kohlrabi many years ago and told to treat it like a carrot. I really don’t like it and have never tried again. So never grown it either. Think I’ll give it a go if I ever get my hands on seeds & my own garden to plant them in.
Thanks SC but I don’t like the sound of it so won’t be growing it.
I'd forgotten what kohl rabi tasted like but having eaten a few of this year's crop I really like it. Crisp, juicy, sweet and tender with a melon-like taste and slight brassica heat. The variety is Olivia F1 and it was harvested at the cricket/softball stage. It has been much quicker to grow than the purple variety beside it. My preference is to have it in small chunks or sticks in a salad where it adds a nice crunch.
