Here we go again - its Tromba time.Smile

Remember last year, when Small Chilli put us all to shame with her enormous, weirdly shaped Trombas - are you still eating them SC?

No prizes for growing the most amusing "thingy" - just the satisfaction of knowing that you've made everyone laugh!!
Who's up for it this year?

Deffo in here. Would be growing it without a competition, they're brilliant. I really must devise a better way of supporting them though.

Last year was a bad year for growing trombos, for me anyway, I just didn't get the heat that I think they need, so this year the area I will will be growing them where they will get full sun, when it's out, but it will also get a cold wind, so I intend putting up a protective polythene screen behind the climbing net, that they will hopefully climb up, the question is should I put the black or the white side to the plant, or would I be better using clear polythene as a screen?

Personally I’d use clear if you have it. I’d go with white side as my next choice.

I was in last year and failed to grow even one small one - let alone one worth laughing at.
Will try to do better this year. Smile

Only got 4 decent sized trombs off my plant this year.
This is the biggest one 90cm long . Not got the weight of it. But definitely over a kilo.

I've lost the knack with Trombas. My plants died and I have no Trombas to my name. Bit like last year.!!
Never mind, I'll try again next year!
