Today’s thoughts included- life on other planets, why is an elephant called an elephant and can I cook an edible cake.

Useless bit of trivia - family names are usually all uppercase in France, and put first, so really I'm PLOT, Pyrenees

Elephant comes from elephas, which is Greek for ivory. Oddly only Asian elephants are called Elephas. African elephants are Loxodonta after the shape of their grinding teeth. Odd that both species are named after their teeth. This should be in the strange but true thread. 
And of course you can cook an edible cake, Neffa. Dogs will eat just about anything.
