A little robin can to collect bugs & worms from the newly distributed ground. I just got his picture as he left the handle of the spade.

Still not the best photo, a lot going on in the background and had to crop it as I was still a bit to far away.

Flying ants!! Not strictly true as they're not flying yet but they have their wings. Spotted them (the ants) crawling out of a tomato pot in the GH.

Not flying yet but will be soon. 3 young ladies just been ringed today. Apparently there is a nest not far away with 3 young men chicks in. They seemed very fluffy and all weighed 350 to 400g.

They're so gorgeous. Much nicer than flying ants.

We have flying ants here as well. We know when they are about as we see small birds flying into the wall at the front of the house which the ants always seem to run up for some reason. Some of the ants look quite plump.

I heard a commotion outside, about 30 swallows were darting about and shrieking and a blackbird was sounding the alarm.

I caught a brief glimpse of him Yesterday.

You were quick to get a photo Mark. A sparrowhawk alighted on the random post outside our bedroom window yesterday looking for breakfast, he/she flew down the hedge line with a tit in its talons 15 seconds later. I don't like the small birds being caught but the sparrowhawk has to eat too. A red kite has its home in the railway embankment and soars overhead most days.

Two young robins are visiting GH1 every day, hopping around the tomato plants and perching on the canes. Whilst I'm happy that they like it there I'm worried that the dogs will catch them as the birds aren't savvy enough to fly out of the top windows quickly enough. I've had to barricade the door to keep the dogs out.

A woodpecker on the random pole outside our bedroom window. The photo is poor as it was taken through the window from some distance on my tablet (from bed).
