I've got my MINCE book out and bought some Pork and beef mince. This afternoon I am going to give the American Meat Loaf a try as the yanks seem to rave about it. Checked all the ingredients and only need to buy some nutmeg and a jar of red peppers in oil which I spotted at Aldi.

The Yanks also have something they call Italian sausage which seems a little different than ours. I've been meaning to have a go at making, meatball style rather than in casings though.

Tonight it is slow cooker beef casserole/stew because the oven element went bang in the middle of cooking dinner last night. Thank goodness for microwaves. I was going to make dumplings with the stew - I adore dumplings - but P is on a 'diet' to loose a few pounds, so its boiled potatoes and veg  I might sneak in a dumpling just for me, but hey I need to loose those few pounds too. It all depends whether the guilt kicks in.
