Sunshine and chopping sticks! I dunno why but I always enjoy chopping sticks to light the woodburner, especially in the sunshine and especially from free wood I have scrounged. Sticks are quite expensive to buy now and in 5 to 10 minutes I can chop enough sticks to keep me going for a fortnight.I used to chop sticks at a local farm for very little reward when I was a nipper. Those days everyone had coal fires so the farmer went around the streest with a tractor and trailer flogging sticks. I recently bumped into him in his retirement and he gets a good income from renting out his land to 'horsey' people.I think he must own a goodly amount of land locally!

Seeing my son, pregnant daughter in law and my granddaughter coming to visit and stay for dinner. We had a bank holiday today in Ireland for St. Brigid’s day.

It also looks like my new job will be made permanent, via a two year contract which means I'm essentially permanent at this level.
Congratulations Sariss on your permanent job.
