Parsnip bed dug up

Just a rant, something has been in there so whatever I've done to date is lost.

Given the success rate on the chitted seed I'm wondering if it's actually worth giving it another go?

Were they seedlings or last year's crop?

Seedlings, I'd planted out about 12 that had chitted from about 50-60

Such a disappointment Danny, no advice but lots of sympathy.

How big were they?
Are you sure they were dug up or did the weather finish them off?

Still plenty of time to sow parsnips. Was it an old packet of seed? I got about 70% germination from chitting this year, it may have been higher since the rest got chucked away once enough were planted.

I'm sowing more this weekend. I usually do two batches a year - just broadcast sowing at the end of the root bed - but the first lot have been lost (probably) to an over zealous mole doing home improvements.

I'd chit some more Danny they once they're planted out cover the bed with either netting or fleece. It is frustrating it looks like mice have been making holes amongst mine. Sad so covering them wouldn't work.

Don't give up Danny, plenty of time to re-sow.
