Painted the shelves that used to live in the little tunnel. Just a bit of protection for them as they will be living outside in the new garden.

More weeding/clearing and tadpole watering. I can see the little fellas now!

Sown tomato seeds. Rest of the day has been about doors. I’ve cleaned the 2 doors off the polytunnel. I’ve rebuilt the doors off the sales barrow. I was never happy with them. But they really didn’t cope well with the barrow falling over. They’ve never been right since.

We had a bright spell this afternoon so I thought a bit of oneupmanship was called for. I cut my lawn for the first time this year. My neighbour allways beats me to it then looks in disgust at my overgrown sward! Rolleyes

Added another line of plan wire to our fence. Deer have been getting in. We don’t think the electric fence has actually been working properly. But now they know the way in the little buggers will carry on. So another strand of wire and try something different with the electric supply. Soon the fence will be hooked up to the mains.

Potted up some tomato, aubergine and pepper seedlings.
Sowed mangetout and courgettes.
Started to fill 2 x 30ltr pots for potatoes.
Bottom layer is the woody twigs that came out of the hotbin. Next layer is some animal hay. Next the hotbin compost that is too big to sieve. Next, some of last year's tomato pot compost (mostly coir).
A few more layers and I'll add some potatoes!

Potted on the sweet pepper and chilli seedlings.
Took a leisurely walk to B&Q to pick up a bag of vermiculite ready for tomato sowing this weekend.

Weeding Veg plots before the rain started - then I went back to sieving hotbin compost and topping up spud tubs in the GH.

Set up one large propagator in GH1 set at about 12°C. Pricked out tomatoes and divided them up between indoors under lights and in gh in propagator
