I spy the first cranes heading south for the winter. We'll hear them day and night into early January - sometimes so high the noise is faint but sometimes so low they scare the Cat!
We are on a migration route and the numbers have increased year by year - a rare conservation success story.

I SPY but not today - Damsel flies and Dragon flies - usually over the pond but sometimes in groups circling and dancing over the grass. Beautiful.

I spy with my little eye dartford warbler.
Very Unlikely to see one on the island let alone my garden. But they’re lovely little birds.
