I don't think we have too many problems with mice at the moment, as I direct-sowed sugar snaps and CFBs last year and nearly all of them came up. That said, someone small enough to get down the narrow entrance tunnel was eating the hedgehog food last autumn and I'm not entirely convinced it was hedgehogs!

I was surprised at how low the temperature can be for sowing brassicas and alliums. Cool

I have sown chillies in the propagator with very few germinating. Take them out of the propagator and onto the windowsill, and they start germinating. Smile

This is why our medieval ancestors mainly ate onions and cabbages as their vegetables Big Grin

I found this on an alternative site, first figure is lowest, middle is optimum, last figure is max. Not the best format but worth a comparison.

Apparently pottage was one of the staples, made with peas and whatever else they could chuck in the pot methinks!  Smile
