I cook baby broad beans in their pods as if they were runner beans - and eat the lot. The pods aren't furry inside when they're young.

Picked my first bowl of strawberries - ate half with breakfast and I'm about to eat the remainder in the next 5 minutes! I like June, she brings all the tastes I've missed since last year.

I agree with you re young broad beans,  but I'm always torn between mortgaging a larger crop or eating the babies.  Enjoy your strawbs, very decadent,  strawberries for breakfast,. Mine are coming in thick and fast so delicious especially as they're all mine  Big Grin.    I do believe June visits you first , you always seem to pick the goodies before anyone else (not that we're competitive you understand).

RE: What I harvested today - Vinny - 06-06-2020

Not really a harvest, but I brought my last sack of stored onions home from the allotment shed. I put about a quarter of them into the Dalek as they had started to sprout, but I could have used the sprouts as spring onions.

The rest are now at home hung in a net bag outside and should last us through to the first of the Japanese onions are ready. If I was desperate I could start eating some immature Japs but it seems there is no need and I can let them fully mature. Cool
